A two-partner project to create a library for the existing campus of GU Tech, Oman. The design took the extreme heat and climate, the site’s ground temperature, and passive cooling techniques into consideration to maximize the sustainability ideas into the project. We were inspired by the local sand dunes as our “roofscape,” and further explored bedouin ideologies of “wandering” as a critical feature for a library, the place of education. This project was chosen for CityWorks, awarded as “Best Project of the Year,” and also led to the “Best Architecture Student” award.
