Project Summary

“Revitalizing Jefferson” is a summer studio project that targets the social, economical, and educational issues that are occurring in the rural town of Jefferson in Schoharie County, NY. In the analysis of Jefferson’s geology, we discovered that the town was an island between two underground water sources. Through creating bodies of water along the high water table that encircles the town of Jefferson, we challenged the current infrastructure of Jefferson by incorporating the bodies of water with our proposed educational prototypes, aquaponic energy systems, recycling centers, and integrated public infrastructures that build with the people to create a better future for their town. This project was chosen for CityWorks.
